The PW-450 is our largest pipe wrench, a 24-inch industrial powerhouse built for the most demanding pipeline, process piping, and heavy industrial applications where pipes up to 4 inches (114mm) must be securely gripped and turned. The head is forged from chromium-molybdenum (Cr-Mo) steel rather than cast iron, providing significantly higher strength-to-weight ratio and fracture toughness. The fully floating hook jaw features induction-hardened teeth at HRC 48-54 with an aggressive bite pattern that maintains grip even on polished or chrome-plated pipe surfaces. The heavy-duty steel I-beam handle is stress-relieved after welding to prevent fatigue cracking, and the double-dipped PVC grip provides insulation and comfort during extended use. The oversized adjusting nut features an octagonal profile that accepts a 1/2-inch drive ratchet for rapid jaw positioning.
